Tea at The Brown Palace is truly special. During the holidays it’s even more so.

The Brown Palace once an icon has lived up to the latest reviews of decline in every way shape and form. Dirty bathrooms, substandard food that doesn’t come close to the past years. The only reason I gave a two star rating was the tea and the staff whom try very hard to give above average service but are clearly stifled by a sinking ship….so sad.

I’ve had tea at the Brown Palace many times and the holiday tea is always extra special with the beautiful crystal chandelier and Christmas decor but I felt that this time was less than expected. The service was meh and the food not as good as I’ve had in prior years. The scones weren’t very good (a bit dry and lacked flavor which was surprising) and the deserts ok but not great. The layered petite cake desert was also dry, so I left feeling flat on the quality of food. The server was trying to rush us- we were a table of 4 and pushed out with the check in 45-50 minutes. For the overall experience, quality of food and time I was able to spend with my party, I’ll opt to spend my money elsewhere or do at home next time. Tab was $324 and with tip we we just under $400 for a lack luster experience.

We go to Christmas Tea every year. This was the first time I had made reservations at the Brown Palace. I was very disappointed. It is the first tea that I have ever felt ignored by the staff. They were late on our reservation, once we were sat we were not greeted for nearly 10 minutes, we ordered food and tea came 10 minutes later. We never had waters refilled. Ever. As far the food, it was fine. For $75 a piece, I would have expected something more grand. At the other Christmas Teas attended it has always been served - scones, savory and the dessert at the end. They bring it all together. It is a poorly oiled machine. It is loud and chaotic. The final straw was someone vacuuming around our table. The thought is there, maybe a memory of what it was....but it is gone. We will not be back

Beautifully decorated, nice holiday tradition. Pricey but worth it. Great experience and our teens really enjoyed it!

Beautiful food and ambiance! Not their usually level of service during a busy Christmas season.

We were seated right next to the piano. It was hard to hear at times. The Brown Palace was decorated beautifully. A fun seasonal event.
