I had high hopes about this place based on reviews. There were no warm breads to start. We ordered two filets medium and they came out raw, luke warm and very fatty for a filet. The loaded baked potato was hard as a rock and not fully cooked through. It's a beautiful restaurant and we were seated on time and the waiter was friendly, but the kitchen was very slow. We didn't even have the patience to look at the dessert menu. It was still nearly $300 without dessert. There are WAY better places to eat steak in this town but we happened to be there for a show.

We had high hopes for our visit to Alder & Birch, but unfortunately, we never even got to dine there. The restaurant was clearly short-staffed, and the delays were so extensive that we ultimately had to leave without being served. While the manager was kind and doing their best to help, it was evident that they were overwhelmed trying to keep up with the demands of the evening. We understand that staffing issues happen, but the lack of preparation for such a busy time was disappointing. We hope the restaurant can address these challenges, as first impressions matter, and we left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied.

Service and food were good. However, there was chaos at the entrance, and the captain was overwhelmed with prospective diners who did not have the foresight to make reservations in advance. The noise level was too high for comfortable conversation.

Our server was very good but it took over an hour and a half to get our main course. My lobster was a bit overcooked as was my husband’s salmon. The spinach was not tasty and the mushrooms were just okay. We were offered a free glass of wine and then a free dessert which didn’t interest us so late in the evening. It was an extremely busy night and they seemed to never catch up.

We thought we'd have a nice dinner before a concert there. Service was very slow. Had to wait a long time just to get a drink. They brought one of our drinks and then we had to remind them about the other one. Ordered a bottle of wine to have with dinner and it took so long that we cancelled the bottle and just ordered a glass instead. Food was just ok. The steak we had was very fatty as well as the short ribs. The onion soup was good though. As soon as our food came we asked for the check as well since by now we were running late. Had to eat really quick so the experience wasn't very enjoyable. Overall it took over an hour and a half and that was rushing at the very end. Maybe it was just a bad night for the staff but I probably would not eat there again.

We were seated promptly at 5pm, asst. waiter brought bread and crackers to start our meal. Quickly followed by our waiter introducing himself, explaining the specialty of the night and brought our drinks as well. Restaurant is decorated nicely. Lump crab cake was quite tasty with an abundance if meaty crab, my girlfriend’s onion soup was excellent as well. Main courses of both Chilean sea bass and pacific salmon with sides of garlic spinach and blue cheeses scalloped potatoes finished the main course. Outstanding meal!,, coffee and chocolate cake for dessert completed the meal.. We will definitely be back to try all the other items on menu.
