   I had heard how spectacular the Christmas decorations are, so I chose this time of year to dine at Madonna's, and they did not disappoint! There's more than you could ever take in just looking around. The staff was friendly and prompt. My particular waiter did not seem very knowledgeable about wines, but his knowledge of the food was good. The couple at the table next to me were very pleased with his suggestions. The food is your standard, basic steak house faire. It brought back memories of dining with my parents. Along with your main entree you get the basic green salad or soup, vegetables, baked potato or rice and a bread basket. The food was simple, but good. I had the portobello mushroom since I'm more vegetarian, and it was very tasty with cheese and balsamic toppings. Of course, I had to try their famous Pink Champagne Cake which is a white cake with two types of fillings and pink curls sprinkled on the top. It too was very good and huge...best to share with one or two others. I was there early on a weekday, so the noise level from patrons was low. The old fashioned Christmas music was loud and festive. If you enjoy a traditional steakhouse experience, Madonna's Gold Rush Steak House is perfect.

   We had an amazing evening. Holiday tradition as a child and now bringing my own children. Married here 24 years ago and we come back whenever possible. Food is ALWAYS delicious. Can’t find a better steak anywhere. Cooked to perfection. No steak knife needed. Honest. Get the carrot cake!!!!

   I had the pork chop which was excellent. They have upgraded their bread to an herb bread which we loved, even my granddaughter liked it. Waiters were friendly and always refilling drinks. My daughter really liked her pasta. Food was seasoned perfectly. We had a lovely night.

   Definitely a must do when visiting SLO or for special occasion. Romantic nostalgic setting; a bit tacky; but that adds to charm & history of it. I did not see waterfall in urinal though I’ve dined here about 5-6xs…as I have no desire to go in “men’s bathroom” or view a urjnal, ever-LOL! Gift store is upstairs from restaurant—it has 2 floors & something for everyone—in addition to gifts (for urself or others) it encompasses a giant boutique style clothing, shoes & accessories!! Wonderful evening! O h& check out the bar/lounge b4 or after dinner or both & dancefloor w/live band tops it all off. If you stay @ hotel definitely try “Copper Cafe & bakery”—the cakes are “signature” one of a kind & very delicious & impressive & can be purchased in dining room; lounge; copper cafe or bakery. TIP: if ur interested in taking home a whole cake they require advance purchase so check out very informative website that gives more detail than i just did! Cant wait to go back with our adult children this Christmas Eve & maybe stay there to check out “spa & pool with outside food & bar service (for hotel/spa guests only”)!

   What amazing Christmas decorations on top of their normal full blown decorations! We had been wine tasting all afternoon so we didn’t get any drinks besides iced tea. The food was very good, lamb chops and salmon dinners were so delicious. One chop was way overdone but the other two were fine despite my requesting medium rare and clearly getting medium. Surprised me with a huge piece of their pink champagne cake for my birthday treat! Staff could not have been more gracious or helpful. Delightful evening.

   Loved our experience! Ashlee was our wonderful server and she was so great. The food and service were impeccable- we are here for a couple days celebrating my husbands Birthday and it was such a nice first days meal.. I got the filet which came with a salad or soup (I got salad) and baked potato- she recommended this amazing blue cheese dressing.. so good!! Husband got the Ribye with the broccoli cheddar soup which was delicious as well and a baked potato.. the place is decked out for Christmas which made it magical.. they do such a great job with their decor.. highly recommend!

   It was our first time dining at the steakhouse. It did not disappoint. The ambiance was wonderful. The staff friendly, and our server Jamie was amazing! We enjoyed all that we ate and drank. We will definitely be back. We will tell our friends & fam they have to dine here at least once-especially Siri g the holidays. It is a gem!

    Madonna Inn as a whole is a beautiful and unique experience. The venue and the fun, dancing, singing, it's truly a great place. However, the food is nothing special at all. It's mediocre at best. The waitress wasn't the best, and for a steakhouse, I'd expect a little better. The food was nothing special and for $70 for a steak at least, you'd expect it to wow you. The veggies are literally steamed from a frozen bag.
