   Wonderful experience. Food was perfect and soooo good as were the cocktails. Service was prompt, friendly and not obtrusive. Will dine here again!

   We were grateful for reservations as the place was “hopping” . Excellent service and great advise on the menu. The trout entree was superb as was the cured salmon. Great wine options.

   Summary: Don't waste your time. Visited two years ago and it was superb. Chose to return to celebrate a special occasion. Food quality has deteriorated. Price has risen considerably - cost £100 excluding drinks and was barely worth £65. No longer value for money, nor able to be considered an upmarket restaurant. Ineffectual manager chose to ignore rowdy guests, therefore other customers had to dine in a din. It was left to the excellent waitress to try to placate unhappy guests while her boss hid in a passageway. When asked about this woeful situation he offered no apology nor a plan to avoid repetition. Furthermore, no recompense was offered. Our only relief was leaving early and not incurring expense on our planned desserts and coffee.

    We’d suggest this restaurant for dinner with visiting friends from the US. The menu was good but the food was just fine rather than impressive. No flourishes and no garnish so just a steak on a plate with a bowl of chips wasn’t going to wow anybody. The quality was good overall.
