Located in the heart of Hillcrest, Au Revoir Bistro saw it's first day in November 2010, a new born of the Mastellone family (Arrivederci, Il Postino, Buon Appetito, etc etc). Typical Parisian French Bistro, Au Revoir, has a casual ambiance and an atmosphere that transports you directly to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Our French Homemade Cuisine is a perfectly inexpensive recipe, a little bit of tradition, an ounce of modern French cooking inspired by different regions, and a big cup of love from our Chef Dédé and his team. Some of the house specialties are "escargots", "soupe à l'oignon", "boeuf bourguignon", "coq au vin", "frogs' legs", ...Et Voila !

This is our favorite place for quiet lunches. Closer than a trip to small town in France and the local bistro. They make you feel special. Moules are to die for

The food was okay, albeit too salty. The server brought us the wrong order and when we told him, he argued with us insisting that we had ordered the items he served. He finally took it away, saying “fine, I’ll change it for you, but you ordered the California Benedict.” It was very rude and he was simply wrong but wouldn’t gracefully admit it. If we hadn’t been so hungry, we would have just left. This is the second, consecutive time I’ve been disappointed with the meal and the service there (after years of going there and enjoying their food). It’s gone downhill, and wasn’t very busy for a Sunday brunch. I probably won’t go back.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the poulet baguette and loved it. I substituted salad for the fries, but my friends had the fries and said that they were exceptional.

Au Revoir is one of our neighborhood favorites. The cuisine is always good (duck confit, trout, braised beef, salads, and of course the pommes frites!) were all delicious. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of food. The ability to park by the restaurant is a definite plus when bringing older, less mobile guests (we usually walk). We dined on a Friday night, when entree supplies should have been robust; however, on this evening, several items were unavailable. Our waiter was a bit challenged, mixing orders and requiring reminders on other items. Of course we will return, and hopefully the service will be back up to Au Revoir's usual standards. ATBster

Was really looking to a good French experience… was disappointed that the escargot had no flavor and I sent it back. French onion soup was good everyone else’s dish tasted great. Escargot definitely needs to be tasted before served.

We went for two ladies’ birthday celebrations. We were well taken care of! We had a puff pastry appetizer with Camembert cheese (it was good, but different than I expected.). Two had the fish and risotto which they enjoyed and two had the Beef Bourguignon which was recommended over the Hangar Steak. I found it to be too salty and the other guest who had it previously agreed. (When I got home and had my leftovers, what I thought was more of the beef was a large portion of fat - cooked so it looked like the rest of the meat) We were treated with two chocolate mousse birthday servings. It was overall a good experience. It is a little expensive, but not necessarily a surprise.
