The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.

Please note: reservations for Summerlicious open on June 29, and will be available online only.

The food, especially the onion soup and the steak tartare were abominable. The onions in the former were burnt and did not taste good at all. There was no melted gruyère cheese on top of the soup (only tasteless cheese melted on a kind of brioche that was mediocre at best). The steak tartare was not seasoned at all, lacking salt, pepper, and flavour. The toasted bread that came with it was old and hard. Service, by Sylvio, was amazing!!

We truly enjoyed our dinner at the Auberge. In particular our waiter made the experience most enjoyable. We rate Auberge du Pommier as a PREMIUM Toronto restaurant.

Celebrated our anniversary. Have dined at Auberge before, and even had a private party, where found everything to be excellent. We had Duck a l'orange. I understand that the duck was dry cured, but mine was tough, and we got 5 small slices of duckbreast, some fennel (a little bit) which was difficult to slice, and my wife's was way too salty. At $ 58 you feel taken advantage of re the main course. Bread 4 buns came at $ 14. Service was excellent, unobtrusive, professional, and friendly. The menu had little choice. Sorry not coming back.

Sadly, the food was not up to par. The fries were barely warm, the onion soup had a deflated cheese covering (not like the beautiful crispy dome I had previously had), and the crust on the escargot pastry was so tough that I needed a steak knife to get through it, and it was also luke warm. Clearly the food had sat for awhile before being served.
