   It's hard to make your wife feel important for an anniversary when your bartender can't place Moscato into a drink instead of prosecco. For everyone's information, do not ask the bartender to modify cocktails; he will not do it. Disappointing for how much you pay for dinner.

   BH has never been cheap, but the experience has always been top notch. My family and I have been going there for 20+ years. However, for some crazy reason, the menu is now a la carte. A steak is $55/$65, and that is just a piece of meat. The bread is now $3, and a dinner salad is $7…if you want garlic butter it’s an extra $6, and a veggie/potato option is another $14. Ends up being about a 40% increase YOY for a similar meal (sorry, that’s not inflation). I ordered the prime rib special ($65) medium rare, it came well done (grey in color) and cold. They brought me a new one and it was identical (guessing their whole roast got overcooked). I ended up eating a side of shrimp by myself after my entire family was done eating. And to top it off, they tried to charge us for both items! Had to talk to a manager and there was no apology or empathy, and actually didn’t make the situation any better (on Mother’s Day nonetheless). Not sure if their new “executive chef” Jenna Brower was the decision make on the new menu and pricing, but they sure missed the mark. I will not be returning this season.

   Excellence across the board. Drinks were well made, food and service was amazing. It was a great experience.

   We came back after 44 years - loved Bar Harbor then, loved it now! Excellent food, beautiful views and pleasing ambiance!

   After going there for years on a regular basis we are not a fan of the change of menu to a la carte. The wait staff was fantastic as always but the a al carte menu pricing will slow us down on coming on a regular basis. This is an up north restaurant it’s not downtown Minneapolis.
