   We experienced our first lunch at Benihana today. It was a great experience. Restaurant was not very populated. We got seated right away. The service was very prompt and attentive. We had the table all to ourselves and the chef performed just for us. In addition, I think we had the best chef performer in the whole restaurant. Spencer was great! The food is always excellent. We love the Hibachi rice! We always order extra food and extra rice so we can take some home. Had a great time! We’ll be back!!

   They were running way behind - even for reservations. They have no system to make people leave who are just lingering after they have finished. The restaurant was very loud and the ventilation was poor. We had to wash everything after dining there. Food was yummy. Waiter was doing a great job despite the chaos. The hostess running the board was amazing. She had a tough job with so many large parties, people who wouldn’t leave and reservations running late. Would not recommend on a weekend night. Ventilation needs a big upgrade. Don’t wear your nice dry clean clothes there. If kids are a problem for you, I would skip. LOTS of loud children.

   Food was 10/10, drinks were good as well. It was very Smoky in there and made it difficult at times to breathe properly, but otherwise we had an amazing dinner

   Our waiter was probably new but it was slow service our appetizer sushi was wrong and they didn’t sing hbd to my son 🙃

   We have been eating there for over 30 years. I would say for most, over 90% have been 4 or 5 stars overall. I think we had a new cook and the server assisting him was handling quite a few tables. Both were very personable and polite but not much of show due to the newness of the chef (understandable) but the server forgot a few things. We ordered a meal to go for my wife who could not make it and they left out the salad and the soup on the take home order. Also it was my daughter’s birthday and they used to take a picture, have a Buddha with candle but maybe for a Wednesday night they just don’t do that. Not a big deal but most of our visits are for special occasions so you kind of expect it. We will continue to go but hope this isn’t a trend.

    Usually our go-to place for special occasions. My husband told the waiter twice that it was my birthday but they sang, gave a special dessert, candle, etc to the other birthday person at our table and not me. My daughter was disappointed that she didn’t get corn with her kids meal. The chef had to be asked to do the volcano, train, etc. There was some sort of problem with the orders of the other two groups at our table, which definitely interfered with the festive atmosphere. The ice cream tasted like an inferior brand to what is usually served. Next time we will probably go to the Bloomfield location instead. —Response to reply from management. Although I appreciate your attempt to reply, you obviously did not read my post. We did not enjoy the food or the service, although we usually do. And the problems were at our table, not other tables.
