Reliable. Menu does not change - at least not in the last year. Every now and then there is a good special, like last evening we had the soft shell crabs which were nice size and well prepared. Atmosphere is a bit dark and dreary inside the dining room - perhaps better lighting or brighter decor to help liven it up a bit?

We went back to this place having enjoyed it many years ago. This time we were not impressed. The atmosphere is still on point, let’s be clear about that. Food was hit and miss. The cocktails- just ok, nothing special. The hot food was hot. Oysters were great but many on the menu were sold out. The branzino had great flavors but the skin on was soggy. The falafel was overcooked and on the dry side. The broccolini was awesome though. The poke was disappointing. It was presented beautifully but All the components were separated and hard to eat together cause of the cuts. It was missing sea weed (a key poke component) and the sauce tasted like thousand island dressing instead of a sauce with umami Asian flavors. The service was good but not outstanding. They put in a sneaky 4% feet for using your credit card - something you expect at a bodega but not a high end restaurant. Also, i don’t think they read any special requests when you put them in your reservation - front receptionist was unaware of ours.

What a great team! We went for ours kids' Adoption Day celebration in a sea of others celebrating Mother's Day. Cheers to everyone! Our server Marco was attentive, and Colin, the manager made sure this was a special day.

Everything was perfect. From Happy Hour where my wife and 2 adult sons enjoyed blueberry-mint martinis and Cosmos, hummus, duck nachos, and calamari. Our waiter, Rod, was friendly, prompt, and really nice to work with. We then moved over to the other side of the restaurant for dinner. We had an excellent bottle of French Chardonnay and our son had a California Cabernet. We shared 2 salads—arugula and beet. Both fantastic. For the entrees, I had the grouper, one son had the steak frites, my wife and other son had the branzino. All were terrific, but I think the Branzino would win in a contest. For dessert, we shared the apple and blueberry crisp and chocolate mousse. Our waiter, Keif, was outstanding! Friendly, informative, helpful, engaged, prompt. We weren’t rushed, but the food came without delay. All in all, we could not have asked for a better dining experience!

As always, great food at a reasonable price. We had the lobster sandwich special, a few types of oysters (very fresh), the halibut, bronzino and grouper. Everyone was happy.

I moved here last year from Southern California. I quickly discovered this restaurant, and it's my absolute favorite here. Great service, fantastic food and great ambiance. It's my go to place when my people visit.

First time going there and I for sure will be back! Service was outstanding and the vibe of the interior were great. Food was priced fairly for the quality. Came out fresh and fast but then again at the time it wasn’t super busy. For sure worth a try

Tbh, it’s a middle of the road place with middle of the road food. It almost felt like we were at an Applebees but paying Georgetown prices. The scallops were cooked fine but the dish is really an order of mashed potatoes with four modest sized scallops. The blackened shrimp was good but suggest they remove the tails and go for larger and fewer shrimp. The underlying Brussels sprouts were also good but the bacon was too much—less is more. The side of mushrooms were very tasty but sitting in too much butter or oil. The dessert was very good—apple blueberry crisp with a good dollop of vanilla ice cream draped in a lattice of caramel sauce (which wasn’t needed!) Anyway, if you’re looking for a decent meal, this place is fine. If you are wanting a more robust experience, you might leave wanting.

We were thrilled that Blacks was open on Easter Sunday! Such a wonderful dining experience and an exceptional server! We enjoyed the oysters as a starter, eggs with smoked salmon Benedict, so yummy, delicious salad with perfectly seared Tuna! The ladies loved the steak and eggs and scallops were fabulous! Perfect timing of the serving team.
