BXL ZOUTE offers a charming Belgian dining experience with "delicious food and beer," and "excellent service." Patrons love its "understated sophistication" and "cozy atmosphere." While some note high prices and noise levels, the fantastic Belgian beer selection and attentive staff make it a favorite for pre-theater visits.

Prices are a bit high, though Belgian food and beer selection are all too rare in New York. I had the Moule Grande Mère (with cream sauce and thick chunks of bacon) for ~$35. Really excellent muscles. In fact, I might go back for some week night for the all you can eat deal ($41).

Perfectly fresh, plump mussels in a well-spiced wine broth are a real treat, served with a bowl of crispy pinned frites and a little dish of mayonnaise for dipping. We could have been in Brussels.

Great value! Delicious entrees and selections. Service is extremely attentive. The only thing I would change is the music… the ambiance is luxurious and relaxing but the music is the Eurobeat… original songs or a more relaxing dinner/cocktail music would be welcome at early hours. 💗

We’ve been coming here for a while since Markt restaurant closed back in 2018. Although we no longer come into the city frequently bxl zoute is our go to restaurant for local theater shows. We order the steak tartare and mussels entrees. They are consistently delicious. Always well prepared and delicious and attentive service. I’m probably out of touch with pricing. Entrees may be a little too high but mangeable. I think liquor/wine prices are too high. What I find objectionable are two items. Firstly , they’re stingy with the bread . 3 small pieces to share between the tartare steak and mussel sauce is going a stretch. on a positive note they stopped charging for the bread which they did a while back. Secondly, the common practice of adding a surcharge, in this case 3.5%, to the bill for use of a credit card. Credit card prices are already built into the pricing. I wouldn’t object if this went into the pockets of the staff but it’s pure profit for the owners. I find this objectionable for established restaurants. My issue here is that I deduct that surcharge amount from the tip. It may be unfair to the wait staff but management needs to pay their staff a living wage rather that’s have the customers subsidize them.

One of my favorite places in NYC. This is the best mix of great food, drinks, ambiance, service, and understated sophistication.

What a great restaurant, excellent food and wonderful prix fixe lunch special. Everything was delicious. I can’t wait to return to try more of the menu and the Belgian ale.
