About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
This East Village gem is consistently excellent and is known for innovation and excellence in Roman cuisine. Chef Salvatore Corea creates a seasonal menu, but always remains faithful to its signature namesake dish: homemade pasta brought to your table and spun in a wheel of pecorino cheese, then dusted with a flourish of pepper. Voted a ‘Critic’s Pick’ by New York Magazine, Cacio e Pepe is celebrated by reviewers as a classic Italian restaurant with a modern twist. A 50-seat garden is set behind the main dining room, there is al-fresco dining out front, and waiters will help you select the perfect cocktail or wine to complement your meal. Enjoy dinner any night or brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

I would have given this dinner a complete five out of five stars but I’ll give it a 4.75 stars simply only because the food was not as hot as I had hoped for. However, having them prepare it in front of us was worth having the food just under the temperature I would have liked. The wine was delicious and the service didn’t make me feel rushed which added to the value of the experience. Overall I would definitely visit again

Wanted to get tableside Cacio E Pepe so this was an obvious choice. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and good items on the menu. We got the salad and meatballs to start, which were very good. When the main course came out, it was already prepared in the bowl of cheese, so it was a little disappointing. It was not mixed at the table, but still good food, would recommend.

Nice, not great, but a fabulous value. Perfect if you want a “decent “ meal without spending a fortune. Especially the wines, many in the 40-50 range.

I eat cacio e pepe (the dish) in a lot of places and this is one of the best. Perfect fresh spaghetti and served from a wheel.

Excellent experience- food was amazing and so was the service. Highly recommend for Cacio e Pepe - table side in a large cheese wheel.

The food was undercooked, service was mediocre at best and we were seated in a really cold area. Do not recommend at all.
