Founded almost 25 years ago by power-couple Thierry & Patricia Moity (former owners of Patou in Charlotte, NC & Cafe de Bruxelles in NYC) with 50+ years of culinary expertise across Europe and America, Caprice Bistro continues to welcome Wilmington foodies with their exceptional cuisine. According to Chef Thierry, “I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant. We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating.” New owners Dustin Cook & Edie Senter - in addition to the long-time staff members like Chef Chris Nash & Cocktail Craftmaster Kat - intend to keep honoring that legacy at this downtown staple!

The Caprice Bistro is always fantastic. Just me and my wife this time. Arrived around 5 pm on a Sunday and the bar area was packed. Our bartender/waitress was outstanding.

We love Caprice Bistro but it must have been an off night for the team. The service was very slow and while the appetizers were exceptional and our main course plates were hot to the touch, our main entrees were Luke warm at best with the pork chop more stewed the grilled and tough.

Flounder entree was excellent as was a crepe appetizer. An arugula salad was disappointing. Should have sent it back. Very little blue cheese and dressing. Boring! Service was not up to their standard. Staff seemed harried and inattentive. Noise level on the main floor was like a sports bar with a big game on. Metal ceiling and mirrored walls don’t help the situation. Really need to attend to acoustics:-(

New owners, but still the same menu & quality of food that we’ve been accustomed to. Our server( Meakin), had her hands full- literally, tending to 31 patrons upstairs without skipping a beat!

My husband and I booked Caprice for a belated Valentine's Day dinner and unfortunately we were disappointed by our experience. The cocktails were nice and so was our lobster bisque to start but, our entrees were less than stellar. I ordered the duck confit and it was dry and flavorless. He ordered the waterzooi, which was just alright. Service was slow and I could tell that our server was in the weeds, they appeared to be the only server working the upstairs "sofa lounge". I ordered a glass of wine to have with my duck... I received it after I had finished my meal. Our server was very nice, my husband and I aren't jerks so we didn't make them feel bad about it but, the restaurant really should support their staff better on a busy Friday night.

Great experience. It was our first time. I want to come in sometime and just relax and eat at the bar. Just a really great vibe upstairs.

This was not my first time at Caprice Bistro and similarly to previous visits, the food was excellent. The ambience is quaint. Our server this time was very harried and that took away from our experience. I had to ask for a beverage besides water, server didn't return to check on us after the expo delivered our food for quite sometime. We also had to request a dessert menu then we were left alone so long we opted to get to-go bon bons from next door instead. We understand that there are rush times and that people can get behind but there appeared to be ample coverage of servers for the number of tables which made our subpar service really stand out.

Food was okay. Two of us ordered steak frites, but the frites arrived only after reminded the server that they didn’t arrive with our steak. Soup was lukewarm. We have dined there before, and it just felt like the standards dropped a bit. The menu could also stand to be refreshed. Given all of the fantastic restaurant options in Wilmington, it wouldn’t hurt for them to kick their game up a bit.
