Chang'an is one of the best fine dining Chinese restaurant in Vancouver BC. Our unique cuisine integrates traditional Shaanxi tastes and contemporary food plating. We value our guests and we hope every guest to have a chance to taste our Signature Roast Peking Duck.     We are visiting for Christmas and read great reviews about the duck here. Chang’An is elevated Chinese dining from start to finish. The quality of food to service were all excellent. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend.

    The duck was phenomenal. All dishes ordered, very good. Excellent service. Good value. Highly recommended I like that the food is not very salty, allowing all the natural flavours to come out.

    Impeccable service, delicious food and special dishes. Though price is on the high end side, it’s well worth for the overall experience. It’s now one of my favourite Chinese cuisine restaurant

    Peking duck is a must have but waiter’s suggestions were somewhat disappointing. The spicy Ma la beef was not very complimentary with the other dishes.

    Fabulous. Expensive, but the quality of food and the service was well worth it. It is very rare for a Chinese restaurant to have such polite, friendly, attentive, efficient, caring, patient service. In Chinese, the term would equal "gentle", the opposite of "rough" which is lacking in many Chinese restaurants. Chang'an ticked all the right boxes for great food and great service. We loved the duck (pre-order), the smoked fish appetiser, baby back ribs (so tender the meat just fell off the bone), jumbo scallops, egg tofu, and the celery/lily/peach resin. The Pork Belly Sliders were a little disappointing as we were expecting soft buns. These buns are more like the northern style pocket bread buns -- baked rather than steamed. Beware the Szechuan Peppercorn Shaved Beef. Delicious but oh, so very very spicy. Only one person of our group enjoyed it because he can eat super spicy. This is more of a special occasion restaurant as dishes were delivered with a flourish. Not somewhere you'd go to for a quick bite. Highly recommend.

    For what the prices are, the portions are small & there was nothing extra special in their version of Northern cuisine. Definitely NOT worth the cost or Michelin star rating.
