   Save your money and go somewhere else. This is not a typical French restaurant in the sense one would expect (those who have been to a real one). The decor is awkward esp. down in the wine cellar area, the seating is uncomfortable, the kitchen is slow-1h20m to get the mains, the food is less than mediocre, mains choices are limited, and loudish pop/r&b music playing instead of a French tune. We skipped the desert to get out fast on my wife's birthday dinner. The only good things were the Languedoc wine and Emily's service. The escargot was like chewing small tasteless pieces of rubber, onion soup was ok but not great, the duck was not tasty probably not fresh on a senseless bed of pasta. The truffle oil fries were overcooked, dark brown, and crispy. My medium-rare steak and our daughter's burger were well prepared (there is no kids' meal, so they get to pick an expensive main course from the adults' menu)! Needless to say, we will never go there again.

   This restaurant was outstanding. The service was great and the food and drinks were absolutely outstanding. Our experience far surpassed our expectations. We will return the next time we visit Savannah!

   Quality of French classics was amateurish. No contest with a real French bistro. Terrible wine list. Low grade wines at premium prices..

   My second meal there and for the 2nd time in a row, we were seated at the worst small table in the middle of the basement. For the 1st meal, we were with another couple and it was very cramped .... the second time , 2 nights ago we were sat there after I requested a "nice table for my wife's birthday". It was the literally the WORST Table in the place ....and then to really add insult to that, they brought a younger couple down 10 minutes after us and the host cleared off several place settings at a big corner table in the basement and made it a lovely 2 seater in corner. Wow ... my wife and I both just dropped our chins. Maybe they are regulars, maybe big spenders, maybe asking for a nice table on an actual birthday using Open Table is mostly ignored because I'm sure it is an abused request, but no one asked or spoke with us about it and our server, while nice, was interested in talking with the local regulars from teaching days or something, so we had to wait and/ or waive our hand to get help at least twice. I'll try some other places now that we live here before I want my 3rd meal here and spend another $200 night with Circa 1875.

   Circa 1875 never disappoints! We started with excellent cocktails (the namesake Circa 1875 is their riff on a French 75 and hubs had a Centurion…a very fancy drink!) The escargot is a MUST. Pro tip: if you order the charcuterie board for an app, be prepared for a MASSIVE presentation. I usually order that for my entree! It was superb. Absolutely fantastic. There are no “misses” on this menu. Every single thing is a winner.

   Nice New Year’s Eve dinner there! Service was top notch, the atmosphere was great, the food was great, particularly the champagne, the bread, the octopus and the profiteroles! The sea bass special could have used a more flavorful sauce; the escargots could have had a more pronounced parsley garlic flavor. But these two remarks are very minor compared to the great pleasure we had at Circa 1875!

    We love French food and wanted a nice dinner for NYE that wasn't a set menu. This place did not disappoint. There are so many great places to eat in Savannah, but this stood out for the wine list, and French flair. The dinner room is very cozy and you sit very close together- just like a small place in Paris. The food was great, we enjoyed Foie Gras, and escargot- 2 of our favorites. I had scallops and they where all perfectly cooked.
