Do not call yourself a full service restaurant if you’re decidedly limited service. It’s almost 2025, there’s no excuse to be operating a 300 seat restaurant with a QR code ordering system. We were a table of 12 ranging from 10 weeks old to 80 yrs old and everyone has different levels of technological capacity, eye sight etc. We asked for a proper server, someone reluctantly obliged but the service was absolutely horrendous. I’m a hospitality executive myself and this situation drives me mad. Food was fine. Will not return with family unless the chain commits to a wholesale change. Happy to take calls from corporate office if reached

The City Tap House - Penn Quarter was PACKED so I'm glad we were able to get reservations. The food was excellent, but conversation at the dinner table was difficult because it was very noisy. We had a few issues with ordering via the QR code. When I ordered my food, the site returned an error. When I resubmitted my order, I had two orders. I was able to flag down someone who had to go to the kitchen to cancel my duplicate order. Then I had a third food order waiting to be submitted, so I had to flag someone down again to delete it from my order. The online system could use some improvements, but overall it was a good experience. The food and drinks came out quickly and I found I actually liked ordering and paying from my phone. The link to Apple Pay made it a SNAP! That being said, I received a phishing email overnight that my Apple Pay had been suspended. I deleted that, but it makes me wonder about the security of the online system.

Probably the poorest excuse for a Poké bowl that I’ve ever had in my life. Service was erratic. The floors were slippery with cleaning fluids.

Some orders took to longer to arrive. Some of the guest finished the food before the orders for others arrived. I wont go back if the party will divide checks.

While I hate the QR code for service thing that restaurant are adapting to, it was nice not being interrupted during conversation and controlling the flow of drinks and food. The food was great - especially the corn and crab hush puppies! The drink list has many options and I loved the cider options. Will definitely go again.

Had a great time with family. The ordering process at the table worked very well and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Brussels Sprouts to share!

The BEST chicken and waffles I’ve had in the area. We are old fashioned and didn’t understand the whole QR code, no server thing. Kind of takes away from the whole dining out experience. Everything came out quickly, so that was a bonus.

The experience of ordering our food from a QR code rather than having a server was kinda strange and took away from the dining out experience. When we had questions about the menu or needed something simple we had to get up and find someone since there wasn’t a server coming back to check in with us. The food was just average, and it came out as it was ready and not all together.

I going to the automated QR code for all your ordering it diminishes the experience. This is one of my favorite DC places to eat, but a it will now be a secondary place if I have no place else to go. Quality and service matters.
