About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Good for groups
Family-owned and operated for more than 116 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the dining room.

Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Roast Pork "a la Cubana," and fresh seafood specialties.

Don’t miss Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad®, prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil.

Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo. Relax in our courtyard or Mediterranean-style dining rooms, filled with hundreds of hand-painted tiles and Spanish-style fountains.

We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Tourist trap. Food is insanely overpriced and some of the slowest service we’ve ever had.

We had 1905 salad, Cuban bread with butter, baked chicken and yellow rice. We washed it down with Mexican beer. We are looking forward to going again.

Very ordinary food and touristy dining experience. Massive quantity of food doesn’t make up for the unremarkable taste and presentation. Staff was competent yet impersonal.

Went to enjoy Tapas. Food was good, not great. Ordered 4 dishes. Peppers were outstanding. Rice and mushrooms were good. Meat skewers left much to be desired, overcooked and dry.

We loved this place and always visit when in town. Tonight was an extreme disappointment. Most of our items were terrible. The scallops were overcooked and bland. The shrimp and garlic was bland, the portion was tiny. All of our food was cold except the empenadas. The grouper was overcooked and dry. The rice was cold as well. The steak was overcooked and did not need to have a sauce on it. This meal for 6 totaled over 330 dollars. For all the shortcomings, i feel it was a waste of money and extremely disappointing. We will not return. Seems to have lost quality and integrity of the food is nonexistent.

This wonderful gem of the Columbia Restaurant family is perfectly set in the old St. Augustine quarter. As usual, the quality of the food was outstanding! The 1905 salad, made table-side is the perfect starter for a flavorful meal! The only drawback was it took forty minutes from the time we sat down to receive the salad and the restaurant was not busy! This is usually something that arrives fairly quickly. Our server mentioned it was shift change, but that shouldn't have kept us waiting that long for salad! My dining partner ordered the Spanish Bean Soup, always a hit, and the very tasty Crab Cakes. I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp "Jesse Gonzalez" and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. We ended our meal by splitting a Flan, the best in the business!

A bit disappointed in the food except the bread. We went here based on a recommendation about the famous Cuban sandwich and it was not the best Cuban sandwich I ever had. Table had a large piece missing in one of the ceramic tiles. Server (Gina) did a great job and was very personable.
