The Crown has been welcoming guests for over 600 years. We pride ourselves in being a traditional village inn; a warm welcome awaits. The cosy fireside bar offers the unique ambience of our historic inn, along with traditional ales, lagers and an extensive wine and drinks list.

Whether you are after a light bite, a meal with friends, or sharing a family celebration our oak-panelled restaurant or relaxed lounge provides the perfect setting. Our head chef sources local and seasonal ingredients to deliver fresh, traditional and contemporary dishes for all tastes and dietary requirements. Children are welcomed and can choose from their own seasonal menu.

In warmer months, our sheltered courtyard garden enjoys the full midday sun. The small central courtyard is also available to book by request and offers a lovely private table. Balmy afternoons and evenings will find the front terrace full of diners and drinkers, enjoying the perfect spot for sundowners and watching the world go by.

Great venue and location. Parking can be tricky Very busy so had to wait a bit and call for attention Staff extremely busy and very friendly

We chose the Crown as a half way meeting point with extended family, what a great choice, to start with the ambiance was beautiful and very historic, the welcome was most friendly, the service was all you could ask for, the menu was different and interesting, and the food was the with out doubt the best we have tasted for a long time, particularly at those prices ,the four of us chose differently and were all delighted with our choices , a fantastic experience, next time we are in that area we will definitely call in again, better than 5 out of 5 Graham and Sue Maddox

Dog friendly so the 2 dogs in the bar cried the entire evening..

We're so sorry that a guest's dogs were crying. We are dog friendly and do try to make the dogs relaxed but not at the expense of our other guests. We hope that all owners will realise when their dogs are anxious but we are sorry that on this occasion, they didn't.

Lovely atmosphere, great food and quite fast service. This is a dog friendly pub and it was like Crufts in there on a Tuesday evening. We loved the atmosphere, the friendly locals and the historical setting. Recommend it for good food too.

The setting in the historic well-maintained rooms made the Crown a lovely place to eat in. There was a good variety of tasty food on the menu for each course, including specials. We enjoyed sharing the seafood platter and we each had a well-prepared main course. The rump of lamb was particularly tasty. Desserts were well presented and the plum crumble with damson sorbet was excellent.
