Had to ask for bread and butter. I believe that should be standard for the table.

Upscale, elegant fine dining experience. Make reservations, don’t be in a hurry or worried about price and enjoy a view of the city from the 20th floor of the Captain Cook hotel. It’s was a special occasion for us to celebrate our 36th anniversary, we couldn’t resist the fresh Alaskan scallops which were cooked to perfection, fresh oysters and champagne. And of course the service was impeccable.

They made my birthday and engagement party celebration very special. It wasn’t the type where they just sang for me, but rather the server and staff felt like they were really, really happy for me all dinner, too. Everyone was smiling and nice. They were so good to my parents. They knew I really wanted the bananas foster, but my dad didn’t want to order 2 (minimum). So, they gave me a banana split that was like a bananas foster. It was really touching and a wonderful day. I highly recommend having special days at Crow’s Nest

Food is not good. Go for the ambiance, drinks and desert , but don’t bother with eating dinner there.

This was okay. It was a great experience with the view, however, I’m unsure if I would ever want to return. I have had fine dining before and the food was just fair. The Amuse Bouche tasted like a sour cream cheese and chive dip from Tostitos and a very tiny burnt potato chip. Honestly, it tasted like Layes and Tostitos. I was disappointed there. We then got the bone marrow which was fine, very little bone marrow that in no way was enough for the 4 burnt slices of toast we received. The Foie Gras Mousse in my opinion looked like cat food and tasted like onion salted butter. The crostini was fine, but I felt I could have broken a tooth from how hard they were. The Duroc Pork Chop was Devine, truly worth the flavor but I felt the cost was slightly too high, but not too unreasonable I suppose. The Beef Ribeye was cooked perfectly, the sauce, the fingerlings, splendid. The main meal was wonderful, very nicely done. We finished our night with Bananas Foster. The experience to watch it table side, wonderful. However, it only was a good desert for a good minute as the Banana and sauce were so hot, the desert turned to soup and it was quite undesirable after that. We went for our Anniversary and there was nothing special. Experience was worth it, however, I think there are better restaurants in Anchorage over the Crows Nest personally.

The food was average It was our anniversary. We thought we’d splurge. The steak was $180. I’ve had better steaks for $45 and other restaurants in town. The crows nest has definitely lost its appeal. Unfortunately it’s the only restaurant in acreage that has ambience and fine dining it’s now become overpriced and mediocre, they were better four years ago. I will say that the servers were great, but the food was disappointing.
