My wife and I enjoyed Liam’s. We started with the cooked Oyster sample plate of 9 (3 oysters Rockefeller, 3 oysters garlic parmesan, and 3 oysters chipotle). The oysters were excellent. They also brought out some garlic bread which was very good and quite handy to sop up some of the sauce left in the oyster shells. For our main courses, my wife had the Mussette Snapper and I had the Mahi Mahi Ixtapa. We both enjoyed our dishes. The serving size of the dinners, which included rice and broccoli, was quite ample. Unfortunately, we had no room left to try their Chocolate Bomb dessert which another table ordered and which, with the finishing touches made at the table, looked spectacular.
The wait staff was attentive and helpful.
For a restaurant that deals in both beef and seafood, I found the wine list to be somewhat biased towards red wines and a little light on white wines. They did have a Vinho Verde from Portugal which was good and reasonably priced.
We could have asked for a table next to the window overlooking the Laguna Madre but didn’t since the weather was not cooperating to provide a clear evening view.
Overall, a very pleasant dinner and worthy of a return visit.
