- SShayneSeattle / Eastern Washington •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoAs a service industry person I am very particular in regards to a great dining experience. It was our first time to dine at Tar and Roses and I cannot find one area of improvement. The food was amazing and I feel like it’s hard to find good service these days. The service was impeccable. We will definitely be back!More infoTar & RosesPrice: Expensive• American• Santa Monica•4.9
- AAleesaVIPLos Angeles •35 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWater Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Monica. I suggest it to everyone who comes to visit. For the quality, ambiance, and service, it can't be beat at this price point in the area. Not to mention the sunset view is gorgeous if you can catch it, as the restaurant sits along the PCH. This evening, we came in for a late dinner at 8:45pm on a Monday. The service was still exemplary, both the hostess and our two servers were kind and attentive. My partner worried that we were not dressed for dinner but we were still treated with the same hospitality we have grown to expect from this excellent establishment. And the food is ALWAYS top tier. We chose the oyster sampler which has selections from all over the continent and wonderfully exemplifies the varieties in flavor from different regions, highly recommended. The grilled octopus was cooked to perfection (which I've learned from other restaurants, isn't easy because it can get chewy, but not here). For mains we had the big eye tuna and 8oz filet along with the broccolini. Both were bursting with flavor. For dessert, a favorite, the key lime pie. Our server told us he didn't even like key lime pie until he tried it at Water Grill and now he loves theirs. If that isn't a glowing recommendation, I don't know what is. We finished with a double espresso that comes with a rock sugar stirrer, which was a delightful end to a fantastic meal.More infoWater Grill - Santa MonicaPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Santa Monica•4.6
- RRonniVIPLos Angeles •81 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 3, 2025The Penthouse offers a very nice breakfast menu. The omelette are big, the burrito is delicious, the fruit was very fresh. The restaurant was very busy, but our server was attentive and provided everything we asked for. The hostess welcomed us warmly and we got a window table just like we requested. The Penthouse provides beautiful views of Santa Monica and, if you are lucky enough to get a window table that provides a view of the ocean, the view is spectacular.More infoThe Penthouse RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Santa Monica•4.6
- KKarenVIPChicago / Illinois •23 reviews5.0Dined on Jan 2, 2025Love this place. Second time here and did not disappoint. Service was attentive and kind. Food was delicious. Started with fresh warm rolls brought to the table. For breakfast had escargot, lobster scramble, fish and chips, and huevos tomatillo. All were five star. Ambiance is perfect if you like people watching and a view of the Pacific. After brunch, it was a short walk to Santa Monica Pier. Highly recommend Ivy.More infoIvy at the ShorePrice: Expensive• Californian• Santa Monica•4.8
