Best American Restaurants in Short Pump

We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and our server was phenomenal. We ordered a couple of apps; crab and artichoke dip, hushpuppies, and calamari. The crab dip was a tad mild in flavor, the calamari had a great flavor to it but needed salt, the hushpuppies were good. My husband ordered a platter that came with scallops, shrimp, mashed potatoes, and a crabcake. He said the potatoes were really good but the crabcake was mainly filler. This was disappointing as that meal was pricey. Overall the food lacked seasoning. A little attention to salt and pepper would make a big difference.

Firebirds in Short Pump, Va has become our 'go-to' friend place to meet. We always have great food, service and truly enjoy ourselves. Great place to be anytime of the day!! Totally worth that special night out!

The menu seems to have been reworked and the new additions were delicious. The server however was the star. David was warm and welcoming he got everything exactly right, very efficient he made the experience that much better.

Gracie was our server and she was amazing. My son, mother, and I went for a nice meal since my son had finished his first semester at UVA. We had the Friday porkchop special and my mom had the senior filet meal, We started with the BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer which my son said was the best shrimp dish he’d ever had. My son had the French onion soup and my mom and I shared a wedge. Everything was very flavorful. We had eaten at Perry’s a couple times previously and you can’t get a better porkchop. It’s got a caramelized “crust of deliciousness on the outside and even the lunch portion is huge. My mother loved her filet. Even the mashed potatoes were fluffy and creamy. For dessert, my son got the crunch tower and my mom and I split the D’Angelo table side flamed dessert. We really had an incredible meal. Gracie was lovely and was very patient with special requests. Thank you, Gracie!!! What a great personality—very endearing. Thank you, Perry’s!!

I have been many times with girlfriends for lunch so this is the first time with my husband for lunch. We both had appetizers and then dessert which was plenty for us two seniors . The only complaint was the noise level…it was really high and since my husband wears hearing aids it was hard to take. Food was fantastic!
