Best Asian Restaurants in Hillsdale

Celebrated a good friend's retirement and could not have asked for a nicer evening. On a cool evening, we had a cozy table for 4 indoors (although the outdoor seating looked comfortable). Started with cocktails and the tempura beans. Then moved on to the wedge salad. Folks had halibut, scalops and the veggie risotto for mains along with a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. Bread pudding and candied popcorn (on the house) for desert. Every sip and bite was delicious with a special call out to the wedge salad. We've been before and we will be back. We visited First Born for the first time and were very impressed with the ambience and location and the overall feel and set up. The food was sub-par though. All the appetizers like the fries and mushroom fritetrs and spring rolls were way too oily. You could actaully taste the oil. we had ordered vegetarian spring rolls and it has the smell of fish so was probably fired in the same oil as other meat dishes, which is not right at all. The main dishes were so sweet, it felt like we were having dessert and not savory dishes. Lots of improvement on the food is required.

The staff were all incredibly polite and considerate. Alexandru, in particular, was so kind and thoughtful. Great recommendations, attentive, and even brought out a small treat for the birthday celebration we had going on! Cocktails and food were fantastic. Just an overall SOLID dinner. Will be returning.

Came in for my birthday dinner with the family. Yu’s was packed out on a Thursday nite. Took them a while to get service to us but we weren’t in a hurry. Drinks were ordered and came super quick - dim sum order and was delightful - we try to get something different (our second time here so we’re still exploring the menu). Duck spring rolls were brilliant - sea bass puffs were outstanding. Mains ordered - triple crown was nice but a little underwhelming. Garlic noodles and the spicy aubergine were on point. Liking this place more every time we come - we’ll be back!

Every dish was flavorful and well balanced. We enjoyed the variety of dishes provided on the menu and made a great meal selecting the special dishes and the ones on the menu. We really liked the black sesame creme brulee.
