Mawn is a noodle house with “no rules,” and the first restaurant for Chef Phila Lorn and his wife Rachel, who bring with them close to 20 years of experience in Philly’s restaurant scene. To Phila, chicken was at every meal growing up, and to his parents, chicken represented peacetime. At the end of that dark time, recipes were lost, and culture was wiped out, but through survival, a new authenticity was born.

Mawn is definitely worth the hype because their food and service are absolutely amazing! Sometimes things are out of their control (ignorant loud customers who don’t read about the restaurant before making their reservations), but the waitstaff and owner handled it beautifully :) There is a time limit for each reservation. However, it’s plenty of time to enjoy a meal!

The staff was very attentive and the food was presented beautifully and was equally as delicious. Our group was there for a birthday lunch and our server went out of his way to serve our birthday girl mochi ice cream with a flower and birthday sign on the plate. It was a very kind extra step that none of us were expecting.
