- VValerieVIPMelbourne •35 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe menu is a bit small, but do they pack a punch! The kangaroo tartare tartlet and the lamb dup are both outstanding. Good wine list as well. But it’s not a very busy restaurant and the service is excellent.More infoLuciPrice: Expensive• Australian• Melbourne CBD•4.4
- LLaurenHampshire •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoWe had a great time at Abacus Bar & Kitchen for their bottomless pasta Friday nights. All the pastas were amazing, however there aren’t many vegetarian options. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The vibe in the place was really good and the music was nice in the background. We really enjoyed our evening here!More infoAbacus Bar & KitchenPrice: Expensive• Australian• South Yarra•4.2
- VVickyMelbourne •3 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoI have been there many times. The chef and other staff have changed . The standard of food and service hasn’t!! It’s a great hotel for any occasion. The food is excellent the start are welcoming knowledgeable and efficient. I am always so happy walking home after a thoroughly wonderful afternoon/ evening spent at the Royal Oak . Love dropping into the front bar with my doggos for a drink occasionally. I am so lucky this is walking distance from home . I walk past two other hotels to get there . Highly recommend!!!More infoRoyal Oak HotelPrice: Moderate• Australian• Fitzroy•4.7
- SSimonMelbourne •2 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 23, 2024I had a memorable evening meal here. After stupidly eating a big lunch, I went for some lighter options. The oysters with mango and jalapeno were a gorgeous start, and the terrine was particularly good. Very respectful, polite service, friendly, and attentive without me feeling at all bothered. Nice decor and interesting art on the walls. I hadn't eaten Sturia Oscietra caviar before, but this was a special ocassion, so I splashed out. And I wasn't disapppointed. It was sensational - the kind of thing that makes you close your eyes and groan with each mouthful. The smoked sour cream was a lovely addition, though I went lightly with it to best enjoy the amazing melt-in-the-mouth feeling and complex flavour of the caviar. Without the aditional cost of the caviar, the prices were quite reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. I only wish I'd had enough appetite left for desert. Can't wait to return and try some of the heavier dishes.More infoFreyjaPrice: Expensive• Australian• Melbourne CBD•4.7
