General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Upstairs you’ll find a completely different space that transports you to a peachy 80s dream.     Perfect location for a group of ladies to split some appetizers, pub grub and bevvies before catching a show at Mirvish. Menus were a bit sticky. When we first arrived, there seemed to be some issues with staffing, but the second person that took care of us was outstanding.(not sure what happened to the first one I think she went on break or left or something?) food was tasty and cooked as to what we would’ve expected.  not outstanding or anything but absolutely perfect pub experience. Would recommend.

    An excellent dining experience. From being welcomed at the door to paying the bill and saying goodbye, everything was perfect. The host accommodated us by kindly welcoming us and showing us to our table even though we were a little early. The server guided us through the drink and food menu. She was friendly and helped by making suggestions. The food was impeccably presented and delicious. Overall a great experience and I will make it a point to come back when I return to Toronto. We'll done.

    The food and dessert were fantastic. We had Chicken Alfredo and chocolate brownie 😋 I would definitely come here again if ever in the area loved it! The waitress was great, and the food came fast. Very nice restaurant! We had a great time there.

    Went in for a birthday ended up staying until late night. Karaoke was a blast. Had such a great time. Prices are very reasonable and food was great. I ended up eating the chicken Alfredo and it was amazing.
