- MMondayNew York City •12 reviews5.0Dined on Feb 4, 2025I always love bringing people who've never visited the Tin Building to this restaurant, and with out of town guests timed with Restaurant Week offering a 3-course dinner for $45, it was a no brainer. Amongst the various restaurants in the Tin Buillding, this is my favorite for its speakeasy vibe, parading unsuspecting people through the markets and into the Asian area to walk past the velvet curtains to unveil a bustling Chinese restaurant ala Jean George that whiffs a bit of an opium den -- always offers a wow factor. The food is really delicious and great combination of authentic flavors and French sensibility. My only complaint is that many of the dishes are ultra spicy particularly from the szechuan peppercorn which elicits a slow burn and interferes with the taste buds for those who enjoys wine with their meal. Otherwise 100%!More infoThe House of the Red Pearl at Tin Building by Jean-GeorgesPrice: Expensive• Chinese• Financial District•4.8
