Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Sebastopol

Our experience started at the front door with my request to have our table set for side by side dining and immediately handled by the lovely receptionist. The room is the most unique dining spot in Santa Rosa and it's fun to watch the bar work and see all of the dishes being served. It's styled as a high end bistro and certainly comes off in that realm. Our waiter Ben was well versed in the menu and adept at offering wine selections to match with our menu selections. The menu prices are reasonable for the style and quality of the food but I have to say that the wine list is priced for the destination customer who is looking for an experience. I have been to Grossman's several times, usually for lunch and brunch, both of which are excellent. Our dinner at Grossman's was terrific; very tasty and well-prepared. One suggestion is that they serve a vegetable in lieu of one of the two starches that accompany the chicken kebabs. The wine I had was very nice and reasonably priced; my husband loved his bloody mary. We'll be back!

Went to Wilder SF for Christmas dinner. My wife had the prime rib special and I had the pork chop dinner. Both were amazing. The pork chop had a wonderful sweet and salty flavor—no complaints on anything! We did the roast cauliflower for an app and they were super thoughtful of my allergies and skipped the flash fry since calamari goes in it (seafood allergy) and let us know it would take just a touch longer. Appreciated the safety and communication. We finished with affogato for dessert which is served in a waffle cone. A little twist on a classic. I wouldn’t normally like a waffle cone with it but it made it perfect to split with my spouse who really enjoys that part. Great place. Can’t wait to go back.

Lo & Behold Bar + Kitchen in Healdsburg is a must-visit for those seeking a break from wine tastings. I was a little surprised at the clam chowder, which is shellfish in a broth, not the creamy kind I am used to. It was good, but it is a lot of work to separate the clams from their shells, dispose of the shells, then dig out the clams from withinthe broth. Interesting experience! The shrimp risotto was excellent, the Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc accompanied it well, and to finish, the affogato was really nice. Mency was attentive and professional. And we had a perfect table, in the corner overlooking the water. The weather was drizzly and foggy, which the restaurant can't control (I'm sure they wish they could), so I'll try to be back when I can enjoy the view.
