- MMeloniAlabama •1 review4.0Dined 2 days agoI want to start off saying that the food was great and the bottle of mimosas was pe! Just a bit disappointed in a few things. We were the first ones to arrive as they opened. My best friend and I hadn't seen each other in awhile so I searched out a place on Open Table that still had reservations for a Sunday brunch yesterday. Upon arriving we were allowed to sit anywhere and the menus were dropped as the waitress went to get our waters. We looked at the menu and were disappointed to see it wasn't a brunch menu as advertised on their website. We asked the waitress when she came back with the waters (after a very long time for us to be the first patrons in the restaurant) and she said, oh no brunch today, sorry. So we dejectedly ordered the crab cakes as a starter. They came with greens that were supposed to be tossed with a citrus vinaigrette according to the menu but were dry. I asked the waitress about that and she said it's not supposed to have dressing on them, so I had to show her the menu and she just said oh. Then we both got the shrimp and grits since that was on the brunch menu at least. We got the shrimp and grits and they did not contain the corn or the tomatoes like the menu said. The waitress kept her distance from us except to refill the orange juice for our mimosas and never asked how the food was, so I just didn't mention it to her. I think she overheard us talking about being disappointed about the brunch not being offered, and the table next to us was disappointed about it as well. I do want to mention that the food was delicious and we were happy with it so I wasn't trying to get a discount, it was just disappointing to not have the brunch and then both dishes to be served without ingredients listed on the menu. The young man with the beard and long hair who checked on us later was very nice and welcoming so I hated to mention it to him, but I guess I should've. Please update your website and your menu if things have changed this much. Thank you!More infoThe FennecPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Birmingham•4.2
