The chocolate dessert with the 'sticks' of roasted meringue, was the best dessert I've ever had. Only minor complaint I had was - it's too dark in the place. I get the ambiance low light. Looking around the restaurant as we had dinner I noticed others - particularly the more mature element of diners, who were the majority on Christmas evening, were moving, bending & directing the menus and some had their phones out lighting them up to read. Food served hot and was good. The gingerbread bread pudding was delicious. Routinely, we had our anniversary dinner at Swizzle. However, when we were unsuccessfully at securing a reservation at Swizzle, our search for an alternate led us to Proof on Main-we are glad we did! Not only were we able to get a last minute reservation on X-mas eve, but it wasn't packed, adding to the intimate ambience we were hoping to experience. Our waiter, was not only knowledgeable, but he was verry attentive and detailed with his recommendations; which were spot-on.
