- LlaurelVIPWashington, D.C. Area •32 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe hadn’t been back to 501 since June. My husband has celiacs and some of the menu choices are limited. We were very happy with our experience. The food was wonderful -I had the tuna and highly recommend. We split lettuce wraps -delicious and each had the butternut squash soup-also delicious. Our server was excellent despite being the only server in the entire dining room. Our one complaint is the cold breeze that completely took over the dining room anytime someone entered the front door. It seems like an easy fix or at least one that a place of this caliber should address. They had a portable heater at the table closest to the door, not a promising sign! We did notice they turned the heat up but it dampened an other wise lovely meal. But when you’re paying nearly $100 per person that shouldn’t be part of the experience.More info501 LocalPrice: Expensive• Bistro• Winnetka•4.7
- BBrendanChicago / Illinois •2 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoIncredible food - the beef tartare was zesty and delicious, beef short ribs had body but could still be cut by a butter knife, and the oat financier dessert was a delightful, lightly salty, perfectly balanced dessert - all incredible. The beef short ribs had some of the best umami flavor I've ever had thanks to the roasted puree (I think celery?) they put on the dish. Great drinks as well, try the Bella & Beatrice if you like gin at all.More infoBokaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Lincoln Park•4.8
- PPatriciaChicago / Illinois •65 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoJust about all of our food last night was top notch! The crab cakes, wedge salad and calamari were terrific appetizers. The upgrade to the onion soup was worth it - it was rich tasting and full of cheese. Our steaks were high quality beef cooked just right. The only disappointment was the carrot cake. It was not the usual layered cake loaded with cream cheese filling. It was almost black in color (couldn't find the carrots!) and had no frosting. I should have sent it back in retrospect. But we will be back! This is a very good steak house!More infoJameson's Charhouse - SkokiePrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Skokie•4.5
