Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Tangletown

Great food, great experience. Everything we had was good and presented well.

We enjoyed a little Bday celebration at Atoma last night. The place was packed bu we were seated right on time. Derek, our server, explained the entire menu to us. Amish, our Somm, helped us pick out a nice bottle of English Sparkling Wine to start the party. Both were on the top of their game. We actually ordered all but three items from the menu. We were four people who love to eat. Some of the highlights were the Jerusalem Artichokes ( wonderful ), the Potatoes called Heirloom Spuds with cheese ( outstanding ), Rossette Cookie, Dungeness crab, Grilled Halibut, Lamb Saddle, etc... All were so tasty. The service was top notch the entire evening and the plates were well spaced to give us enough time to enjoy without rushing. For me, I think the only caveat is that it is expensive. Some of the dishes were a little small. Saying that, I wouldn't hesitate to go back for a Bday or Anniversary. But we probably won't be going back on a regular basis. Cheers ! P.S. The Baked Alaska was Killer Good !!!

Great food, wonderful service, very accommodating getting us in to a table thanks to beautiful day - which opened up outside seating. Really nice night.
