Best Contemporary Mexican Restaurants in Tempe

Outstanding and unique take on Mexican food. Innovative entrees, starters and desserts. Only negative is the high volume atmosphere of a small dining room. Not a place you would go for a quiet, romantic evening but great for high-energy confabs.

The food and atmosphere are fantastic! The carne asada nachos are a must have!

Amazing staff and overall experience. Cocktails were exceptional, comparable to brickyard in dt Chandler. The food was better than expected. The menu is a bit small for someone in your party that is a picky eater. If you have an open mind and are willing to try something new and different, you won’t be sorry. Recommendations on food: boneless ribeye (size is shareable), Korean style adobo ribs, burger, birria dumplings.

This place rocks. All food was fantastic. Service from our waitress was top notch. She guided us through the menu on arrival explaining everything in detail. Her wine and cocktail recommendations were right on. Very glad I was ready on Nov 1 to grab a reservation slot 12/27. Returns to Scottsdale will include a visit to Bacanora!

The food was fantastic. A great variety and very flavorful. We had 5 different dishes and every one of them was delicious. The cocktail we had was also very tasty....unique and awesome. The service was great. The only downside was that as the evening wore on, the temps outside reached 68 and the doors remained open making us quite cold, which was uncomfortable. After awhile, we couldn't wait to leave because it wasn't very pleasant being so cold. I think closing the doors as the sun goes down and the temperatures (particularly, in the winter) decrease, it's time to close the doors. Nobody has their homes exposed to the outside when it's 68 degrees out!!
