- OTOpenTable DinerOrange County •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWe celebrated our daughter Andrea's 24th Birthday at Terranea Resort last night at Mar'Sels! We had a lovely night as family celebrating the beautiful woman she is. She makes us proud everyday with her motivation and love for life and her studies at Cal State Fullerton and setting her goals for the future. May God guide her, protect her, and give her many more years happy, healthy, and full of greatness and love!More infomar'sel at Terranea ResortPrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Rancho Palos Verdes / Rolling Hills Estates•4.7
- SSusanCalifornia Central Coast •12 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe food was outstandingly fresh, high quality, and creatively prepared and served. The price fixe menu of many courses seemed to climb a bell curve, with the least interesting being the shrimp chip and dip starter ‘snack’ , climbing to a magnificent crescendo with the the scallop and mussel small plate, and an equally exquisite plate of the freshest sliced kampachi. Each plate was beautiful, graced with curated vegetables, flowers, and delicate sauces that completed, never overpowered. Our only complaint: we found the dessert disappointing in flavor, appearance and texture: a choux pastry ball with a heavy dull filling, sitting on top of a scatter of what resembled stale cocoa puff cereal pieces. I would have traded it for the rich creamy mascapone ice cream served earlier, sans the caviar topping. The service was outstanding: gracious, helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and well orchestrated. Overall we had a fabulous dining experience, exceeding our highest expectations. In most every way, including price, dining here is a special occasion; we could not understand how or why most diners we observed were wearing gym clothes, T-shirts and jeans, sneakers, fuzzy slippers. What’s next: dining in our underwear? How about a dress code?!More infoHeritagePrice: Very Expensive• Californian• Long Beach•4.7
- AAlexLos Angeles •17 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoSplendid experience all around! Our server, Alex, was lovely. Our food was presented so beautifully. My friend and I had a lovely time dining & catching up before we went to see a show across the street. It was just such a divine experience that I am planning to take others back to San Laurel. The only problem was that my mocktail was made with alcohol. I don’t drink because I’m sober so it was very concerning that such an error occurred. That’s never happened in all my years of ordering mocktails at other fine establishments. After two sips and having my friend try it, I was convinced that there was indeed tequila added to my lime-based drink so I asked the waiter about it and he quickly whisked it away and brought me a true mocktail that tasted of citrus and definitely had no alcohol in it. That was a weird experience. The evening ended on a great note with a surprise complementary flan dessert for my friend’s birthday that included a candle and song-a very nice touch. Of special note is that the chef is actually accommodating to guests’ dietary sensitivities such as the need for gluten and dairy free ingredients. Such a breath of fresh air since other fine dining spots don’t usually like to make such modifications to their menu items. It was very much appreciated by this diner. Thank you San Laurel!More infoSan LaurelPrice: Very Expensive• Spanish• Downtown•4.8
- RRosyLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined on Dec 13, 2024I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and when we first walking into the building it was really cool and nice getting to look at the cars, the little shop, and cafe. I also now see why the wait to land a reservation here is pretty long because walking in, it did not feel packed or too chaotic. I’m a very anxious person and get uncomfortable whenever I’m at a setting where there’s a lot of people so this was extremely nice for me. Now, for the restaurant, I’m a pretty picky eater so not much stood out to me on the menu other than the classic 917 burger which happened to be delicious along with the side of fries that it came with. The bill for me and my partner didn’t come out to a lot or what I was expecting but I mean we did only have the burgers and no alcoholic drinks. Overall really nice and calm place, I felt comfortable and like I could talk to my boyfriend freely and admire the cars together. The service was also really good! I loved everything and my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot as well.More infoPorsche Experience Center’s Restaurant 917Price: Expensive• American• Torrance / Carson•4.8
