By far our favorite dining experience in CDMX. We came for lunch one day and had such an amazing time that we returned our last night because it was our favorite dining experience of 9 nights. Great mezcal, lovely, helpful & prompt service. Food was extraordinary. The volcano may as well be the signature since it was so good. Shrimp & marlin tacos were the best in the city. The brisket may just be the best in the country. Perfectly tender & a little fatty- as it should be says this Jewish New Yorker. All sauces felt authentically Mexican and thoroughly modern. The menu is seafood oriented but is laid out so you can try many different items that aren’t too big. There wasn’t a single item we wouldn’t order the next time we come. The chef-owner, Lula, came by for a quick check in and couldn’t have been lovelier. It should be packed all the time. We were there off hours and possibly got some special attention. But we’ll take it. I hope they’re packed at night because I want to return next time we come to CDMX
