- DDavidBath/Somerset •14 reviews4.0Dined 4 days agoWe had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Albert Schloss. We were given a dining table at the rear of the basement venue, we could hear the stage acts but could not see. The beers on offer were fabulous with Paulaner and an unfiltered bier being our choice. The choice of food from the menu is somewhat limited , one of us had the burger and the other had the Curry Wurst. All was good. Our first round of beers were at the drinks list prices but we noted on our bill that subsequent drinks were more expensive (extra £1 per drink) to contribute towards the stage acts which we could not see. Wish the venue had been more upfront about this. We asked our server if we could move to the main area in front of the stage. This we were able to do and enjoyed several more beers after dinner and enjoyed the acts ( and paid the additional act tax) Overall a wonderful evening.More infoAlbert's Schloss - LondonPrice: Moderate• Contemporary European• Soho•4.7

- LlouiseKent •157 reviews4.0Dined on Oct 9, 2024First time here, primarily drawn by the look and the location! Live music on arrival was a touch on the loud side if one sat at the back, so we swapped to front and were able to hear each other a little more. I'm sure perhaps with a different singer or just piano it might have been better (after all, live piano music usually adds to one's experience of a cocktail bar! ) Sumptuous decor contributed to ambience, which did get better anyway once the music switched to recorded. Serving staff as stylish as the decor, again contributed well to the overall feel. We did the "Taste of Engel" for something to eat. Descriptions of hot dogs sounded very tasty; on arrival my bun was fully cut in half (as opposed to split) making it tricky to eat in the usual way, and was quite dry, but the pork sausage and dressings were nice enough. Superb cocktail menu and those we had were professionally executed. Overall I would say this is a beautiful place where one would absolutely go for drinks, and if one wanted a bit of carb/protein to offset them then it's provided, but is not - and nor should it be, given the type of venue it is - the main focus of this Royal Exchange gem.More infoEngel BarPrice: Expensive• Cocktail Bar• Bank•3.5
