Best Greek Restaurants in Highwood

Ema is outstanding! We had 6 women for a special birthday. Our server was smart , informative for first timers, attentive, and so nice. The food was so good. We shared everything. Hummus. Spreads. Veggies. All were excellent. Can’t wait to come back. The restaurant itself is so beautiful. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Reserve early!!

Great spot with above average food. The salads were great, the French onion was very average, the ambience was cool. I would definitely go back but wish they can improve on the soup a bit.

My wife and I had dinner. We started with a garden salad and Greek dressing. For our entrees, she had Greek prepared eggplant and I had Mediterranean prepared salmon. For our drink, we each had a glass of Merlot wine. We had a delicious dinner. Demetri’s is a neighborhood gem.

The food is always great at Avli. It was very busy and the noise levels were quite high but bearable. Maybe they could play some music to drown out some of the chatter. We had the hummus and eggplant spread. Both were great. Big portions. We also had the mini chicken skewers which were delicious, and the meatballs. They were quite good although the tomato sauce on top was quite tart and tasted a bit like tomato paste. My husband liked it more than me. For dessert we had the orange pie which is actually orange cake. It is delicious. We also tried the cheesecake and chocolate filo sampler. Both were very good. We love Juan who has been our server in the past. Very attentive and friendly.

Very good service, noise level high. Recommend the chicken kabob, but forget the onion soup. Request to sit by the fireplace. Cozy.
