Best Italian Restaurants in Castro Valley

It was my first time here, and Italian food is one of my favorite or to say top of my list when it comes to dining, I really liked the place, I seated by the bar love the vibes so cozy.

Much more attentive service than before (have had not so good service in past visits) but pleasantly pleased! The hosts were also very friendly and that's terrific too. Keep it up, Piatti! :)

All the Locanda locations are great and this was no exception. Excellent meal, especially loved the artichoke fritter appetizer and the penne al la Vodka, but everything was perfectly prepared and nicely presented. Pricing very reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive. It was a bit noisy and crowded to start, but much calmer as the evening went on.

We love this restaurant. Typically I like to sit in the raised alcove with Italian painted scenes on the wall. However with my husband’s hearing deficit, there is a lot of noise…so we sit in the other areas. The food is great. I consistently choose the calamari piccata, love the capers! We had appetizers of beef carpaccio and fried calamari, along with a lovely wedge salad. Excellent food, great service at reasonable price! The only reason I gave it 4 stars on the food was my husband ordered the beef special, which the waiter said “thin strips of beef wrapped with prosciutto and mushrooms, instead it was ground beef, and more like a meatloaf..disappointing to my husband…

Manager and server were both fantastic as always. Great food and service.
