- BBrandenPhoenix / Arizona •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWe had our First Date here and it was absolutely incredible. Staff was very attentive and did their absolute best to not interrupt conversations, or kept it to a minimum when required. I selected the Miso Salmon , and my date selected the Spicy Salmon Hand rolls. We were both very impressed with the presentation and flavor of the hand rolls. The Miso Salom was cooked beautifully to the Chefs recommendations and I would absolutely get it a second time. We shared a bottle of champagne to go with the meal and our server, Jake D. made sure that our glasses never went empty until the bottle did. Noise wise, it was what you might expect from a restraunt where each table is likely celebrating for one reason or another. That is to say it was a good level for normal conversations. No need to yell or shout, but at times I could hear the gradual rise in general volume. This was our experience when we sat outside in the patio area, I may recommend an indoor reservation if you would prefer a quieter setting.More infoPYROPrice: Very Expensive• Japanese• Central Phoenix•4.7

Also, the waiter made us wait so long to get a drink and was really just lackluster and flatlined. Not super friendly or attentive but he did take a dish off the bill that we didn’t care for that was quite bland.More infoPalmaPrice: Moderate• Asian• Downtown Phoenix•4.6
- SSuzannePhoenix / Arizona •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoBenihana is one of our favorite places to dine, and it never disappoints! We recently visited to celebrate my son’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. The hostess was friendly and was able to accommodate us by adding another person to our party, even though the restaurant was very busy. The service from our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the chef was not only skilled but also accommodating to our requests. The food, as always, was absolutely delicious, and the sushi was exceptional. The highlight was when the staff sang “Happy Birthday” to my son in both English and Japanese—and the waiter took a group photo for us, it made the celebration extra special. We’ve been coming here for years and always look forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Benihana for great food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience! This version is polished and includes your note about the hostess seamlessly.More infoBenihana - Chandler, AZPrice: Moderate• Japanese• Chandler•4
- PPhilipVIPChicago / Illinois •24 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoMy wife, and our son and his girlfriend, had dinner at Shimogamo Chandler to celebrate our son’s first job. For the first time, we ate at a table, instead of at the sushi counter. Our server, Micah, was terrific. She clearly knew the restaurant, the menu, the food and the drinks. We started with an excellent sake, Ippongi Daiichi Gitai, that was presented by the bar manager, Matt. We ordered a huge assortment of mostly nigiri sushi; Madai (Sea Bream), Mejina (Opaleye Nigiri), Kamasu (Barracuda Nigiri), Kinmedai (Goldeneye Snapper), Aji (Jack Mackerel), Umi Masu (Ocean Trout), Hotate (Sea Scallop), Anago (Sea Eel), Ama Ebi (Sweet Shrimp), Baja Uni (Sea Urchin Sashimi), Santa Barbara Uni (Sea Urchin Gunkan). Micah had the chefs course our fish selections perfectly. After the sushi, we had the Hatcho Miso Duck, Yuzu Mushroom and Fried Shishito Peppers. For dessert, my son and I tried the Harvest in Uji and Matcha Hai cocktails. Everything we had to eat and drink was delicious. If I had known that they had Kakigori (Japanese Shave Ice) for dessert, I would have saved room for it. That’s one more reason to return for another meal, I guess.More infoShimogamo Japanese Restaurant - ChandlerPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Chandler•4.8
