- SShaneLos Angeles •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoMy family and I had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving and a birthday at Gyu-kaku. The staff were attentive and kind. The food was good, though I didn’t always feel we got enough from each plate. Obviously we can always request more, and we ended up doubling up, but sometimes we didn’t even get enough for the 5 folks at our table to each have some. I’m grateful that they were open and willing to host us on a holiday. I will gladly return and highly recommend. Just ask for more than one plate at a time :)More infoGyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ - Pasadena, CA | Old TownPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Pasadena•4.4
- HHectorLos Angeles •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIf you're craving authentic Japanese food, Shin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya in Alhambra is a must-visit! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with an authentic vibe that transports you straight to Japan. I started with their famous Japanese meat skewers—absolutely delicious! The yakitori was perfectly grilled, with just the right amount of char and tenderness. The flavors were spot-on, and each skewer was a delightful burst of savory goodness. Next, I had the ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a great depth that comes from hours of careful preparation. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings (from soft-boiled eggs to tender slices of pork) really elevated the dish. It's easily one of the best ramen bowls I've had. To round out the meal, I enjoyed a glass of cold sake. It was smooth and refreshing, a perfect complement to the meal. Overall, everything was great. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly without sacrificing quality. Whether you're a fan of yakitori or ramen, this place does it right. I’ll definitely be back for more!More infoShin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Men-Ya - AlhambraPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Alhambra•4.7
- MMollyLos Angeles •4 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 21, 2024We have been coming to Shiro's for many years and, once again, they reminded us why this is our favorite "special occasion" restaurant. The food is always excellent -- tasty and beautifully presented. Last night we enjoyed 2 favorites, the salmon tartar tacos and the catfish. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely including the soft jazz piano playing on the sound system.More infoShiro RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Pasadena•4.9
