Best Japanese Restaurants in Bellaire

Another great evening at the bustling Galleria area Balboa Surf Club. An enjoyable dining experience was ensured by the attention from our Server, Sage. Our group, including several first-time Balboa visitors, tried...and loved, various appetizers with each then ordering separate main-fare choices. Each dinner was rated as outstanding. We also enjoyed a nice Balboa related discussion with a Manager "checking on our table" while she was assisting Servers.

We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday with a lovely lunch here and the food and service were both fantastic. There was a lovely selection of juices and non-alcoholic cocktails, and our favorite was the Awake juice. The showstopper was the beehive dessert: a meringue shell with an orange sorbet inside decorated with honey, edible flowers and candy bees. Adorable! Highly recommend Bloom and Bee for a special meal or if you just want to treat yourself.

Nobu was a really great experience! The food was superb and fresh. I ordered the yellowtail and the crispy rice tuna and the waiter explained how to enhance the taste and MY GOD it did not disappoint! John, my waiter was so sweet, attentive and gracious. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

I took my mother here for her birthday Jan 5th, 2025 and we had an outstanding dinner experience. We went on a Sunday at 5:30pm and there wasn’t many other tables there, and throughout the entire night even when the restaurant filled up, the noise level was still low, very intimate vibe. Throughout the dinner, we had the manager constantly checking up on us to make sure everything was good, very friendly and receptive to any feedbacks we gave her. We ordered 2 drinks, 5 order of nigiris (each nigiri order comes in 2), 2 maki roll dishes, and two main dishes, and 1 dessert (got a bonus dessert because it was mom’s birthday), total came out to be $273 (without tip) and I think that’s pretty reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend the Nigiris, very fresh and delicious. For our main dishes, I ordered a Miso Black Cod and found bones in it, so be careful while consuming this dish, but overall, great seasoning and flavor. This was my first time at Uchiko. It exceeded expectations. My guest & I dined Omakase style and the selections were Ahhmazing. There were only a couple that we didn’t like. When we didn’t fully enjoy our server offered replacements-OUTSTANDING service! We did a weekend happy hour which pretty quiet. Parking was easy complimentary valet or self-park. Ummm, yes of course I recommend.
