Best Japanese Restaurants in Midtown

It was a great time. We had never been there before, so it was a great date.

We requested a table upstairs and they were able to do that. Server suggested some good drinks and food came out very quickly despite it being 10 pm and they were still fairly busy on a holiday.

Server was amazing. The ambiance suffered because it was Valentine’s Day and it felt like we were in a to go food assembly line. The restaurant was nearly empty because they hold tables for reservations and there were no walk ins on Valentine’s Day. Overall food was great, but it felt cold and the clear priority was takeout. A Brown paper bag staging area is not a good look.

We were disappointed that the advertised " Happy hour" wasn't available. However, our drinks and meal were moderately priced. The " spicey" items weren't- but Chile oil was readily available. Our server was attentive and efficient. Our meals arrived more quickly than we anticipated and were very large servings. We should have ordered 1 and shared it! We did order a California roll and Brussels sprouts as a starter, so...the meal was way too much food. I wouldn't order the Brussels sprouts again. They were too saucy and overcooked for my taste. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were surprised that it wasn't as expensive as we anticipated.

My girlfriend and I had an excellent experience here for our date night wonderful ambiance, excellent food and friendly service. I am particularly picking about hollandaise sauce but the one they serve with the asparagus as a side for the filet mignon was one of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Would recommend 10/10 to anyone.
