Situated on Sandycombe Road, just a stones throw from Kew Gardens, Palmyra is a warm and welcoming neighbourhood eatery specialising in authentic Lebanese cuisine. The interior is stylish but unpretentious with comfortable black leather seating – ideal for a long lunch with friends or a romantic dinner for two. We recommend starting with shared mezze dishes like stuffed vine leaves, batata harrah and homemade hummus or moutabel. Next, order a round of Lebanese beers and move on to hearty mains like the delicious vegetable moussaka, chargrilled chicken skewers, or their signature spiced lamb in a rich, creamy tomato sauce. We guarantee you’ll leave Palmyra feeling full, relaxed and looking forward to your next visit!

Noura’s new look does a classy job of upholding the award-winning London chain’s reputation for sleek spaces. The minimalist bistro-style restaurant hides a sumptuous surprise: downstairs lies a lounge bar where a back-lit marble bar is reflected in the regal mirror-wall opposite, and gold recesses glitter in the royal purple walls. Back upstairs, the largely traditional features lots of mouthwatering mezze and grilled meats. Carnivore and omnivore, everyone loves the fattoush salad. A unique cultural history has helped to make Lebanese food the most popular of all Middle Eastern cuisines. For most of its past, Lebanon has been ruled by foreign powers that have influenced the types of food the Lebanese ate. From 1516 to 1918, the Ottoman Turks controlled Lebanon and introduced a variety of foods that have become staples in the Lebanese diet, including olive oil, fresh bread, baklava (a sweet pastry dessert), laban (homemade yogurt), stuffed vegetables, and a variety of nuts. The Ottomans also increased the popularity of lamb. After the Ottomans were defeated in World War I (1914–1918), France took control of Lebanon until 1946, when the country won its independence. During this time, the French introduced some of their most widely eaten foods, particularly treats such as flan, a caramel custard dessert dating back to the 1500s, and buttery croissants.

Amazing experience! The food was even more amazing! Really big portion sizes & really good quality food! The service was spectacular! Everyone was super friendly & they even bought us some Lebanese desserts to try at the end which was a really nice touch. I will 100% be visiting again. Great location, lovely table and generally a nice evening. Food was tasty but the portions were small. We asked for bread but it didn't come. We would have left hungry had we not ordered 2 cheese boards and pudding. While eating the front door kept opening of its own accord and we were blasted with cold air. We kept shutting the door but it continued all evening. After our meal we asked to stay for a final drink and the waiter said we could so long as the group in the function room were still eating/drinking. The waiter then changed his mind and told us we could no longer order a drink and he had told the function they we not allowed more wine. An abrupt end to our night and a shame. I don't normally leave a review but I feel I would want to know if I owned Mezzet Dar Tapas.
