A sherwal is a traditional, multi-layered baggy men’s trousers worn in various areas of the Mediterranean. Centuries old, it is a rare sight nowadays, except in remote villages and at traditional cultural ceremonies and, well, at our restaurant. Why name our restaurant after an archaic pants? Because, somehow, this pair of comfortable pants has found its way into our modern world, with little tweaks here and there taking the form of harem pants or baggy jeans, fusing the old with the new. We had a big group for lunch to celebrate Armenian Christmas. We couldn't fault the food or the service. The food came quickly. Everyone was so attentive and the food was delicious and fresh. Nicely located at King St Wharf where you can have a leisurely walk along the harbour after a wonderful meal :)

We had the pre-theatre dinner banquet and everything was delicious. What our group thought was excellent was that there was the flexibility for the 6 of us to choose different banquets as long as 2 people chose the same thing. Their lamb and arnabeet were our particular favourites.

Absolutely excellent. Food was delicious, the steak was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was very fresh and incredibly tasty. We did the $99 premium set menu which is on the more expensive side for Sydney but well worth it. If anything there was actually too much food but that’s hardly something to complain about! Staff were excellent, have to say we really really enjoyed our meal and would absolutely recommend to anybody considering trying Ouzo out!
