Best Oyster Bars in Clairemont

Food is always absolutely delicious and very consistent. The atmosphere if fantastic... much better than Georges on the Cove next door. And the service by our waitress Jan, was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. PLUS! Unlike Georges on the Cove next door, this restaurant doesn't charge you the insulting "nickel and dime" style of "service charge" on top of everything. There simply is not a better dining experience in La Jolla.

Great food , and experience but next time I will request the dining room. Too many noisy kids on the enclosed patio 🙄

We went for happy hour and like always, the service, food and drinks were amazing.

Food was excellent and arrived timely Had a window seat by bay and even though it was dark it felt nice.. the big bay scallops were to die for. I love calamari but I’ve had better though it was ok. The mud cake was huge and could have been shared and my daughter had cheese cake ! Thank god we had to walk to hotel to work some of it off!

We loved the live music here… it can be heard throughout the entire space. You can’t go wrong with any of their steak options BUT tonight I had the Parmesan sole and I LOVED IT. Huge portion of fish too… we ordered the following accompaniments; Lobster mashed potatoes (weren’t bad but I’d probably skip next time), the Au Gratin cheddar potatoes (these were AWESOME; I’d get these over the lobster mashed potatoes), honey sirarcha brussel sprouts with cashews (always a perfect side) and the crab fried rice (sooo good)… I loved the bottle of wine we shared, the Penfolds Cabernet from Australia, while the rest of my party ordered various cocktails. Our server, Polly, was attentive, warm and swift… she also graced us with a celebratory round of champagne at the end. This doesn’t matter to most people but I LOVE when the complimentary bread is so good that you actually want more. That happened three times with our party tonight. Eddie V’s is honestly one of the best places in San Diego to have an intentional intimate dinner party with loved ones… yes, this is a beautiful date night location too BUT I’ve enjoyed taking smaller dinner parties here for memorable occasions simply because of their level of excellence from ambiance to the food and everything inbetween…
