In der historischen Gaststätte Em Höttche am Bonner Marktplatz wird Stadtgeschichte lebendig. 630 Jahre hat das Lokal auf dem Buckel. An der Decke, an den Säulen und Wänden erfährt der Gast, dass hier einst die Witwe eines angesehenen Bonner Schöffen, die damals die Wirtschaft leitete, als Hexe verbrannt wurde. Und der Kölner Kurfürst Gebhard Truchseß von Waldburg feierte 1582 dort seine Hochzeit. Freilich hieß das „Höttche“ damals Gasthaus „Zum Blomen“. Die Feier muss chaotisch abgelaufen sein. Gegner des Kurfürsten stürmten das Lokal und wollten ihn töten, worauf die Gesellschaft das Lokal fluchtartig verließ. Hier soll auch der junge Ludwig van Beethoven zu seiner Zeit öfters gesehen worden sein. Er tanzte Em Höttche mit seiner Jugendliebe Barbe Koch. .
