Best Seafood Restaurants in Laverton

There can’t be many better situated places in Melbourne, but what makes this place special are the owners and staff. The food is delicious without being overly ambitious, the wine list is surprisingly good (even if Tasmania and NZ are under-represented), and the tables will be a bit too close together for some, but on a happy summer’s evening, with the buzz of a relaxed evening out, we are already looking forward to an opportunity to go again. We’ve all been to places where the food is overthought and the staff performative and condescending and the bill a withering conclusion. Pipi’s Kiosk is refreshingly authentic.

Due to health issues we requested a quiet seat and they looked after us beautifully. We chose the chefs choice and it was well presented, delicious and generous. The staff were lovely . It was a great choice for a weekday lunch with a walk along the foreshore after.

Wanting a feel for Australian cuisine, we selected the sampler on the menu. Six courses representing plenty of food and a wide variety of items came our way. All tasted fantastic. The grilled wallaby, lamb, and smoked trout were especially satisfying. The price was a little steep but we had a great dining experience.

Had a wonderful dinner at Waterfront Southgate. It was a beautiful summer evening during the Australian Open - weather was perfect and we sat outside overlooking the promenade and Yarra River. We chose the only have mains and our whole group found meal delicious and good value for money. I had the Toothfish which was sensational and it was great that it came with some Asian style vegetables. Very busy restaurant but service was great.

We had the best time! Loved our food and the views. First time there, definitely not the last! Drove an hour to get there and didn’t disappoint in any way.
