Best Southern American Restaurants in Opa locka

We always have a wonderful time at Yardbird. We requested a specific table that accommodates our family for our annual family reunion and they were able to accommodate us which was great.  it was very crowded so it took a while for our food to arrive but our server did a wonderful job and was as efficient and friendly as she could be considering the big rush of people that came the same time that we showed up for our reservation! The fried chicken and short ribs were wonderful and the vegetables were great as usual.. street corn, fried okra & yummy mashed potatoes. We were happy to see that fried okra was back on the menu after a lengthy absence! We were sad to see that the mango salad was taken off the menu. The biscuits were great and the only Item we got that was just OK was their rather dry Caesar salad which could use some anchovies & homemade croutons in my humble opinion! The bourbon lemonade is delicious too! We will be back soon. The complimentary chocolate candy at the meals’ end was a nice touch. Overall, we all had a super time at Yardbird!!!

It’s Christmas Day, the family is visiting and we’ve never been to Batch but I made a dinner reservation for the six of us. Arrived on time and we were greeted by friendly hostesses and seated immediately in a terrific booth !! Our Server DJ was personable and attentive. Answered our questions about the menu and meal preparation and continued to check crack and refill our glasses when they were empty. The only problem came when three of us ordered the baby back ribs and both DJ and the Batch Manager stopped at our table to let us know there was only one portion of ribs left in the kitchen!! After another glance st the menu we were happy with our selections, chicken & waffles , Jambalaya, Mac and cheese with chicken in addition to the burnt ends appetizer!! All delicious !! Our thanks to the managerial staff for comping us a dessert to make up for the disappointment of no ribs for two of us!! Dinner was a success and we’ll be returning very soon!!

Brandon took time to explain to me the how each item was prepared and cooked. I could taste multiple flavors and hints in each item, something I haven't found in other restaurants. The fried chicken skin was crisp and full of flavor, chicken meat was perfect. Very generous portions well presented.
