Best Steak Restaurants in Dayton

The Precinct team does it again! Everything from the food, service, valet, and ambiance was perfectly done last night. It was so special I honestly don’t even know where to begin in my review. I guess I’ll start with valet, these unsung hero’s of the restaurant world deserve more praise than they get. Out in the frigid cold working so hard but so happy and curious to each guest. True gentlemen! The host team was a delight as well. It’s always a treat to walk in and see their welcoming, smiling faces, especially Jason. I believe he’s a newer member of the team but he was superb. The service tonight from our head server, Charlie, and his assistant, Jessie was unparalleled. My son can ask a lot of random questions and Charlie was so kind and helpful to him. Seriously, it means so much to a parent when your kids are being taken care of so well. Charlie was just such a delight! But I would be remiss if I didn’t give a huge shout out to Jordan Taylor. As the general manager of a restaurant it can be hard to look at the big picture and the intricate details of each diners experience but he somehow does it flawlessly. He came in and talked to our group for a while, really making us feel like royalty!  Long story short, thank you, Precinct for knocking it out of the park! You’ve left both our bellies and hearts very full. 

We always have a great experience at Jags. This was no exception. The food was outstanding as usual. There were three of us and we had Chilean Sea Bass, Scallops, and Executive Porterhouse Steak. The sides were also very good and plentiful. Bread is great. The service really sets the place apart. Our waitress, Laura, was outstanding. She kept our drinks filled and was always checking on us throughout the dinner to make sure we didn’t need anything. We were seated right next to the fireplace on a very cold day. Very nice atmosphere. Of course it is expensive, but since the food and service is so good, it is worth it to splurge once in a while. Highly recommend for the experience. We plan to go back in June for our 51st anniversary. Thank you.

Service was excellent. Seated by the windows for a birthday dinner and the view was great. It was only topped by the tomahawk steak that my wife and I split. It was cooked perfectly and one of the best steaks that we’ve ever had. They brought out a dessert for my birthday as well. This place is top notch and worth the splurge every once in a while.

My husband and I had the thick pork chops with onion straws, mushrooms, and a backed potato, that was all so very tasty. My son had the filet that was cooked just right, baked potatoes and a salad, that looked very good. My husband received a complimentary desert for his birthday too. That was also very good. The big windows displayed the snow coming down while we were nice and warm inside enjoying it all. Did not have to wear my coat during dinner to stay warm, which sometimes happens at other restaurants. The waitress was also very pleasant. Thank you for the lovely experience.

My wife and I have dined at Jeff Ruby’s a few times over the years. One of the finest establishments that I have ever been in. From the moment you walk in the door you will be amazed at the ambience. When it is time to eat you will have the best steak of your life. Every side dish is amazing (especially those tater tots) and you can’t forget a piece of butter pie! Special shout out to Andrew and Lupe who worked hand in hand to make sure our experience was amazing as usual. See you again soon!!!
