They accommodated and provided special birthday touches. A card and free dessert with a candle included. The best was the food. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a special occasion. The wagyu meatballs were slightly undercooked for my taste, possibly due to my preference for a different beef type. That said, the sea bass stole the show, it was absolutely exceptional, the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant. The sides were also perfectly prepared. The staff and management did a good job of touching our table, checking in to ensure we had a great experience. For dessert, we were treated to the buttercake as part of the birthday celebration. My daughter had highly recommended it, and it lived up to the hype. We all had a fantastic time, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.More infoMastro's Steakhouse - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.6

We were seated on the 2nd floor right in front of the window and enjoyed the view of the Christmas tree on the rooftop along with the Christmas music from the piano player on the 1st floor. The appetizer (Wagu meatballs). steaks and mashed potatoes were delicious. The Creme Brulee was fabulous! Overall we thought the cost was in alignment with most steakhouses but the ambience and the staff (Gabe, our waiter) made it a wonderful holiday experience. If you do decide to dine at Chicago Chop House take the time to read about its history.More infoChicago Chop HousePrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.8

- NNickToronto / Ontario •33 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoAn amazing dinner, better than expected given the many high end steak & resto options in Chicago. We spent day 1 before at a much more expensive steakhouse that we also truly enjoyed, but wanted to ‘turn it down a notch’ price wise. Well, we couldnt have made a better decision. There was good availability and plenty of seating options for our 645p reso. The decor and history is definitely interesting both as a sports fan and a mob/mafia buff. Lots to see with memorabilia posted everywhere. Service with Lupe was excellent. He explained the various dishes, checked with is often and did not rush us - something mentioned often at various restos especially with a seating for two. Water glasses were kept full at all times. We ordered the 14oz pepper crusted NY, side sausage pasta and chicken vesuvio. Chose the side pasta as i was undecided between steak & pasta mains, so had both! Steak was amazing (I’m a very picky & frequent steak eater). Chicken V was also excellent. Has the breast version but would probably choose the 1/2 chicken version next time. Pasta was as good as ever. We would order all three dishes again, no question. However, there was a lot of food and given we were travelling, couldn’t take it with us. Value wise, cannot beat it. Its not the cheapest but when the equivalent steak the day before and at other higher end places, is U$80 vs U$62, thats great value. After dinner, you can take a walk downstairs to view the mob hit man's original vault and escape tunnel. One small nit. We were first seated in a walk thru table. Asked for a change and initially, the one hostess seem perturbed by our request, despite there being plenty of tables avail. The Mgr or guy walking around as such, came to check and found us a great spot, without any attitude. Overall, excellent dinner, service and venue. Will definitely be back next time in Chicago.More infoHarry Caray's Italian Steakhouse - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.7
