Best Wine Bars in KC Power & Light District

The bar service was great. We arrived an hour early and sat at the bar to drink and have an appetizer. Appetizers were flatbread and meatballs! Both were excellent. When we were seated our waiter was okay at best. Don’t know if he was just having an off night but we could sense he just didn’t want to be there. When we were closing the ticket out we considered having another drink and he said well it would make my night easier if you didn’t! For dinner we ordered Steak, Lamb and Lobster between 4 of us. Steak was charred and over cooked & lobster was way over cooked! The lamb was good. We weren’t told they were out of broccoli so everyone’s plates just came with green beans. We asked the waiter and he said they were out of broccoli. Even though it was a mix up, the green beans were the best part of the meals! I think this night was just an off night because normally we’ve had good service and food!

We had a lovely evening celebrating our son’s birthday. The food, the wine and the experience was excellent. They even brought our son a complementary sweet treat after they asked if we were celebrating anything.

Our experience was great again, outside of a loud rude customer the management did nothing to quiet. On his phone dropping the F bomb every sentence, loud enough that after we asked to be moved 10 tables or more away could still hear him. Our food was great, our server Tiffany was great, just disappointed management clearly did not have enough training or skills to handle this guy, at the very least ask him to take his phone calls outside.

Plate was a wonderful experience. The food was wonderful we tried a variety of items and everything was delicious. Our server was very helpful and had great suggestions on food selections. They had a live musician which we were seated somewhat close to which was a touch noisy but my wife and I could still carry a conversation well enough.

It was amazing from beginning to end. Gaspar was the most professional server we've ever encountered. We enjoyed the lobster and crab cake, the KC Strip au poivre, and the seared scallops and lobster risotto. The blackberry sidecar was the cocktail of choice. The whole experience was luxuriously decadent, and Gaspar was wonderful to make sure our anniversary was so special. Thank you all!
